Assistant Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a leading infrastructure programme in London. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you will help coordinate activities, manage work packages and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects and programmes from planning through to completion.
• Manage assigned work packages and monitor progress against project plans.
• Assist with reporting, governance, scheduling, budgeting and document control.
• Identify and escalate risks, issues and opportunities, providing recommendations.
• Support budget management and delivery against agreed timescales.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvement by sharing best practice and lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Deputise for the Project Manager when required.

Required profile

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting infrastructure, engineering or construction projects.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and project controls.
• Knowledge of planning, risk, reporting and budget management.
• APM, PRINCE2 or similar qualification is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive, adaptable and committed to successful project outcomes.
