Assistant Project Manager (Pre-Construction)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of housing investment and improvement projects, helping to enhance homes and communities through pre‑construction and construction initiatives. Working alongside experienced project professionals, you will gain exposure to project management, procurement, stakeholder engagement, contract administration and financial monitoring within a large‑scale property environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of pre‑construction and construction projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate project information, documentation, reports and programme data.
• Assist in monitoring budgets, expenditure, risks and change control processes.
• Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and contract administration.
• Prepare reports, presentations and governance documentation for senior stakeholders.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Organise and support project meetings, maintaining accurate records and actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through research and innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
• A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent, or working towards one.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborative approach with a commitment to excellent customer service.
