Assistant Psychologist (Internal)

About the role

This internal position offers an Assistant Psychologist the chance to join a multi‑professional team delivering personalised rehabilitation for individuals with Long Covid and other energy‑limiting conditions. The role is based within the Symptom Management Service and focuses on children and young people up to 24 years of age.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation pathways for patients across the ABUHB area.
• Provide psychological support and interventions tailored to long‑term fatigue and related symptoms.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes Clinical Psychologists and other health professionals.
• Participate in case reviews, care planning and outcome monitoring.
• Support flexible working arrangements and adhere to the board’s smoke‑free policy.

Required profile

• Current employee of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
• Qualified to work as an Assistant Psychologist within the NHS framework.
• Willingness to work with children, young adults and adults experiencing long‑term health conditions.
• Ability to engage in multidisciplinary teamwork and follow clinical guidelines.
