Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our groundworks team on a variety of high‑value construction projects across the South East. You will work closely with project managers, site teams and clients to ensure commercial success from pre‑construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tenders, budgets, Bills of Quantities and cost forecasts.
• Monitor project costs and provide accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers, manage contracts, valuations and payments.
• Measure and value completed works, handling variations and final accounts.
• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
• Ensure all commercial activities comply with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Membership of RICS or CIOB is advantageous.
