Assistant Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will join a socially‑focused construction consultancy in Central London, supporting a variety of housing, regeneration, education and public‑sector projects across London and the South East. This position offers a solid foundation for gaining consultancy experience, client exposure and progression towards chartership.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost plans and tender documentation.
• Support procurement processes and valuation exercises.
• Produce cost reports, manage change control and prepare final accounts.
• Collaborate closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Directors on project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or RICS‑accredited equivalent.
• At least 1 year of Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in consultancy or PQS.
• Working towards MRICS or willing to start the APC.
• Strong pre‑ and post‑contract knowledge.
• Professional, organised and commercially aware.
• Ability to commute to Central London.

Required skills

• Good understanding of cost planning and tendering processes.
• Knowledge of procurement, valuation and change control procedures.
