Assistant Shop Manager

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and community‑focused Assistant Shop Manager to join Katharine House Hospice’s well‑established shop in Moreton‑in‑Marsh on a 15‑month fixed‑term contract. The part‑time role offers 15 hours per week across an alternating two‑week rota, including alternate Saturdays.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day‑to‑day running of the shop
• Deliver excellent customer service and create a positive shopping experience
• Develop relationships within the local community to increase donations and support
• Assist with merchandising, stock management, and maintaining attractive displays
• Support and motivate a team of volunteers
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation in the local area
• Help maximise sales and profitability while maintaining high retail standards

Required profile

• Previous retail experience (essential)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Enthusiastic, organised and able to work independently
• Passionate about supporting the local community
• Comfortable working with volunteers and building positive relationships
• Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
