Assistant Site Manager – New Build Housing (12 months)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Site Manager to support a fast‑paced new‑build housing development in Chorley. Working closely with an experienced Site Manager, you will help ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to a high quality standard.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Site Manager with daily site operations on a busy new‑build housing project.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and site labour to maintain workmanship standards.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and enforce strict Health & Safety protocols.
• Oversee quality control, manage the snagging process and prepare plots for CML/handover.
• Order, store and manage materials efficiently while controlling waste.
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries and daily reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager on traditional new‑build housing developments.
• Valid CSCS card, SMSTS (or SSSTS) certification and First Aid at Work qualification.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities with a proactive, organised approach.
• Excellent understanding of current NHBC standards and UK building regulations.
