Assistant Stock Controller

About the role

The Assistant Stock Controller will support the Senior Stock Controller and Finance Manager in maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple sites. This full‑time position offers a dynamic environment where problem‑solving, data handling and collaboration are key to ensuring smooth stock movements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily stock checks using perpetual inventory systems.
• Audit daily vehicle dispatches to ensure stock accuracy.
• Book deliveries into stock across multiple sites.
• Review and investigate daily stock exception reports.
• Manage and monitor part pallets.
• Process cancelled orders back into stock.
• Check customer returns and Proof of Delivery documentation.
• Close production orders accurately.
• Assist with monthly stock takes across multiple locations.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Produce monthly reports relating to stock variances.
• Monitor stock with limited shelf life to minimise waste and support effective stock rotation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records across internal systems.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain clear communication with colleagues and provide effective handovers where required.

Required profile

• Highly organised and methodical.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good standards of Maths and English.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.

What we offer

• £31,000 per annum.
• Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
