Assistant Store Manager

About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager at JD Sports, you will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, maintain high operational standards, and lead a team of retail colleagues. You will be the front‑line leader who motivates staff, ensures excellent customer service, and helps the store meet its commercial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to achieve sales targets and core KPIs.
• Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, allocating tasks and maintaining JD standards.
• Provide real‑time coaching, feedback, and development for team members.
• Maintain presentation, pricing accuracy, tidy displays, and a safe environment.
• Handle cash, perform till checks, process deliveries, conduct stock audits, and manage opening/closing routines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role (e.g., Assistant Store Manager, Supervisor).
• Strong leadership ability to guide, develop, and motivate staff.
• Comfort with interpreting KPI and sales data to inform decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of driving sales performance and meeting KPIs.
