Assistant Store Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join a high‑volume, market‑leading retailer in Stockport. This full‑time, on‑site role offers the chance to develop your retail leadership skills while contributing to a fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of a department and act as Duty Manager in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving company KPIs such as sales, wages, wastage and shrinkage.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Maintain high standards of store presentation, stock control, compliance and health & safety.
• Use management information to make informed business decisions and drive operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Strong leadership, planning, organisational and communication abilities.
• Target‑driven with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Highly motivated, ambitious and eager to progress within retail management.
• Self‑starter with a positive, can‑do attitude.
