Assistant Store Manager – Retail (London)

About the role

The British Heart Foundation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of its Wandsworth home store. This full‑time, on‑site role offers the chance to develop retail leadership skills while contributing to a charitable cause.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in running the store and take full responsibility in their absence.
• Deliver excellent customer service and ensure the store meets its sales targets.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising across all product categories.
• Drive sales through both physical and digital channels.
• Support recruitment, training and development of volunteers.
• Participate in campaign activities and manage stock in collaboration with the Store Manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Commercially driven with a focus on results and innovation.
• Inclusive approach to team development.
• Willingness to work a flexible rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
