Assistant Team Manager – Pensions Administration

About the role

Isio is looking for a caring, motivated and technically competent Assistant Team Manager to lead the delivery of trustee services for a portfolio of pension scheme clients, primarily Defined Benefit schemes. The role combines hands‑on administration with team leadership and development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and prioritise allocation of all incoming work across the portfolio.
• Ensure delivery meets high standards and complies with client Service Level Agreements, scheme rules and legislation.
• Process member events within deadlines and conduct peer reviews to maintain quality.
• Provide support, share knowledge and mentor team members.
• Represent Isio at internal and external meetings, including trustee and client sessions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with technical and regulatory changes affecting the schemes.
• Lead ad‑hoc projects, meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
• Identify non‑core fee projects and raise them with clients promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a deputy team leader or senior pensions administrator delivering services to Defined Benefit schemes.
• Strong customer‑service focus with the ability to assess client needs and manage expectations.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, members and colleagues.
• Motivated problem‑solver with a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
• Effective time‑management and ability to handle multiple tasks to deadlines.
• Team‑player who can act as a role model within the organisation.
