Assistant Treasury Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Treasury Accountant to join a global finance team in Ormskirk. This junior position offers a hybrid working model and is ideal for a part‑qualified or newly qualified accountant looking to develop treasury accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and reconcile intercompany debt positions, ensuring compliance with internal lending arrangements.
• Review and sign off treasury exposure reports to support accurate risk reporting.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end treasury accounting processes.
• Post entries into the group consolidation system according to internal requirements.
• Assist with monthly interest analysis, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Account for dividend transactions.
• Maintain treasury systems and banking platforms, overseeing user access and data integrity.
• Calculate and process banking fees, ensuring timely payment and correct allocation.
• Provide cover for Treasury Assistant duties when required.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or newly qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Good understanding of accounting principles, especially cash and loans.
• Experience supporting month‑end processes such as accruals, cut‑off and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formula logic).
