Assistant Vice President – Sanctions Programme (London)

About the role
MUFG is seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead its Sanctions Programme within the Financial Crimes Office for EMEA. Based in London, you will help safeguard the bank’s integrity by ensuring robust sanctions controls across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance sanctions controls across EMEA, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Transformation and Technology partners, Country Compliance teams, Operations, Business stakeholders and other Sanctions teams.
- Support the implementation of MUFG Bank’s financial‑crimes risk appetite by managing systems and controls.
- Draft detailed compliance reports, manage complex remediation plans and coordinate approvals for change requests.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy of sanctions data and related documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience in sanctions compliance or financial‑crimes risk management within a banking environment.
- Strong analytical abilities and experience preparing detailed regulatory reports.
- Ability to manage remediation projects and coordinate cross‑functional change initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior stakeholders across the organization.
