Associate, Business Audit

About the role

BlackRock’s Internal Audit function provides assurance to the Board and senior management that the firm’s businesses are well managed and meet strategic, operational and risk objectives. The Business Audit team, based in Edinburgh, conducts audits across investment management, risk, operations, finance, legal, compliance and client businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regional and global audit reviews.
• Engage with stakeholders to document key processes and risks.
• Prepare process narratives and briefing memos.
• Evaluate process design and operational effectiveness.
• Investigate, escalate and validate remediation of issues.
• Identify emerging firm‑wide and business‑specific risks.
• Support annual risk assessments for business areas.
• Contribute to global departmental projects.
• Travel to regional and international locations as required.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or graduate degree.
• 3+ years of experience, preferably in financial services or internal audit.
• Understanding of financial instruments and asset‑management processes and risks.
• Interest in investment management, sales, trading, operations, risk, finance and compliance.
• Awareness of current regulatory and industry developments.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CA, CIA or IMC are a plus.
