Associate – Catastrophic Injury Lawyer

About the role

Keoghs LLP is seeking an Associate to join its Complex Injury Claims team in Southampton. The role offers the chance to work on high‑value, multi‑track catastrophic injury cases, supporting an experienced Lead Lawyer and developing expertise in indemnity, liability and quantum assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Lead Lawyer on a caseload of complex, high‑value catastrophic injury claims.
• Manage claims from instruction through to settlement or trial.
• Analyse liability and quantum evidence, including large volumes of medical records.
• Prepare chronologies, identify anomalies and highlight key issues.
• Assist with claim valuation using the Ogden Tables.
• Draft technical advice, pleadings, applications and witness statements.
• Instruct counsel and attend conferences, mediations and trials.
• Liaise with insurer clients, insured parties, experts and other stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks to Legal Assistants and Paralegals and maintain accurate case management data.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a genuine interest in complex injury litigation.
• Positive, confident and enthusiastic with sound judgement.
• Strong team player with excellent client‑care skills.
• Calm, professional approach and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to take initiative while seeking guidance when needed.
