About the role
Anthesis is seeking an Associate Director to lead its Energy Transition service line within the Climate & Nature business. The role combines deep technical expertise with commercial leadership to help industrial clients decarbonise, improve energy performance and meet regulatory reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and win new work across manufacturing, chemicals, transport, utilities, heavy industry and pharmaceuticals.
- Develop high‑impact proposals, value propositions and commercial strategies for decarbonisation, carbon reporting and compliance.
- Build and manage senior‑level client relationships, acting as a strategic advisor.
- Drive revenue through cross‑selling of decarbonisation strategy, feasibility studies, low‑carbon technology implementation, energy audits and reporting programmes.
- Leverage digital solutions to enhance project delivery and client value.
- Represent Anthesis at industry forums, conferences and client events to raise brand credibility.
Required profile
- 7+ years of experience in industrial energy, decarbonisation, process engineering or related consultancy/industry roles.
- Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered status with a recognised engineering or energy institution (e.g., IChemE, IMechE, EI) is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality commercial outputs.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and occasional international trips.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of heat and power generation technologies including boilers, CHP units, reciprocating engines, heat pumps, steam systems and gas turbines.
- Understanding of balance‑of‑plant equipment and industrial utilities.
- Experience with technical due diligence and mandatory energy reporting.
