Associate Director – General Practice

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director for our General Practice team in Liverpool. This senior leadership position offers a clear pathway to partnership within 3‑4 years for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a sizeable portfolio of owner‑managed business (OMB) and corporate clients, overseeing accounts, tax and advisory work.
• Provide strategic advice to business owners on structuring, tax planning, forecasting, profit improvement and succession.
• Act as a commercial sounding board, discussing fees, scope and value with clients.
• Lead, coach and review the work of managers and senior staff, influencing resourcing, training and quality control.
• Develop new business by preparing proposals, leading pitches and identifying opportunities within the portfolio and local market.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in practice.
• Strong background in general practice accounting, corporate/owner‑managed tax and advisory.
• Proven track record of managing a client portfolio and leading a team.
• Commercially aware and comfortable discussing fees and value with clients.
• Client‑facing, relationship‑focused and able to roll up sleeves when needed.
