About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director to join a respected planning consultancy in Edinburgh. This senior position offers hybrid working and the chance to lead diverse residential, commercial and mixed‑use projects while mentoring junior planners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver planning applications across multiple sectors.
• Provide strategic advice and stakeholder engagement for clients.
• Lead project teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Support and mentor junior planners.
• Contribute to business development and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• MRTPI qualified (or working towards qualification).
• Strong experience in a planning consultancy or private‑sector environment.
• Proven track record of managing planning applications and projects.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
• Experience in client relationship management and business development.
• Mentoring or team‑lead experience is advantageous.
