Associate Director – Town Planning

About the role

The Associate Director will join the Cardiff planning team of a well‑established consultancy, leading high‑profile projects across strategic planning, development management and coordination. Working with both private and public sector clients, the role offers a chance to shape complex developments throughout England and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver significant planning projects from inception to completion.
• Manage development management processes and ensure compliance with planning legislation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and act as the primary client liaison.
• Develop strategic planning proposals and contribute to business growth in the Cardiff office.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in commercial town planning.
• MRTPI accreditation.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and high professional standards.
• Excellent analytical, written and communication abilities.
• Confidence in client‑facing situations and project leadership.
• Experience in the local or regional area is advantageous.
