Associate Drainage Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chartered Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure Design team as an Associate (Drainage). You will work on a diverse portfolio of rail, highway and water projects across the UK and support global initiatives, delivering high‑quality drainage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate delivery of drainage design work from feasibility through detailed design, ensuring time, budget and technical quality.
• Produce drainage designs, assessments, calculations, reports, specifications and other contract deliverables.
• Check and review the work of junior engineers and external consultants, ensuring compliance with standards and codes of practice.
• Develop and mentor less‑experienced engineers and technicians within project teams.
• Assist in preparing bids, tenders and business development activities.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience on multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in railway, highway or water sectors, preferably both client‑side and design‑and‑build environments.
• Strong analytical ability and solid understanding of current design standards and legislation.
• Experience applying CDM Regulations, risk assessment processes and the Common Safety Method.
