Associate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design and coordination of building services projects for a reputable multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. The role involves managing projects from feasibility through detailed design to site delivery, working within a collaborative and flexible environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and coordination for building services projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial and mixed‑use.
• Manage projects from feasibility studies through detailed design and on‑site delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Oversee and review electrical calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Attend client meetings, represent the business professionally and support commercial activities.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience within a building services consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems.
• Proven experience leading projects and managing client relationships.
• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership (CIBSE/IET desirable).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Amtech.
• Proficiency in Dialux (or similar lighting design software).
