Associate Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join a leading international engineering and sustainability consultancy in Manchester. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to lead electrical design packages, mentor junior staff, and develop business development skills across a variety of high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on a variety of MEP projects
• Take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion
• Review detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications and reports
• Coordinate and supervise the work of engineers and technicians
• Support and mentor junior members of the team
• Manage project programmes, resources and budgets where required
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams
• Contribute to the adoption of digital and parametric design approaches

Required profile

• Proven experience within Electrical Building Services Design
• A relevant degree or HNC/HND qualification
• Membership of a recognised professional body (or working towards chartership)
• Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Strong technical design capabilities and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
