Associate Planner / Associate Director – Bristol (Hybrid)

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK planning consultancy to recruit an Associate Planner or Associate Director for their Bristol office. This hybrid role offers the chance to lead strategic planning projects, develop client relationships and influence the growth of the business across the South West and Thames Valley.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on development potential of land and buildings.
• Lead preparation of planning applications, appeals and policy research.
• Draft representations for Local Plan consultations and examinations.
• Identify, assess and manage land opportunities from strategy to permission.
• Represent clients at planning appeals and Local Plan examinations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• MRTPI qualified.
• Strong experience in the local/regional planning market.
• In‑depth understanding of the UK planning system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Proactive, collaborative and driven.
