Associate Research Director

About the role

As an Associate Research Director at SAM, you will lead a portfolio of FMCG product testing accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and driving revenue growth. Reporting to a Research Director, you will combine strategic thinking with deep technical expertise to deliver high‑impact sensory and consumer research across multiple categories.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 3‑4 FMCG testing accounts, focusing on client retention, delight, and growth.
• Achieve revenue targets and develop proactive plans to mitigate risks and capture opportunities.
• Oversee timely, accurate, and high‑quality project delivery for the account team.
• Lead the creation and delivery of complex proposals, tenders, and regional/global projects.
• Provide strategic, story‑led recommendations based on client feedback, market trends, and project performance.
• Line‑manage 2‑3 Research Managers, handling workload allocation, resource planning, and coaching.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multiple client accounts in the FMCG sector.
• Strong commercial instincts with a track record of meeting revenue goals.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing research teams.
• Excellent communication skills to translate research insights into actionable recommendations.
