Assurance Advisor

About the role

The Assurance Advisor will conduct internal assurance audits across AtkinsRéalis, ensuring compliance with the company’s internal quality audit procedures and management system. You will work closely with project managers and other auditees from preparation through to audit delivery, findings closure, and lessons learned.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and follow‑up internal Assurance (Quality and Security) audits in line with established procedures.
• Deliver green and low‑amber risk audits, process audits, and verification audits within performance targets set by the UK and Ireland Operations and Improvements Manager.
• Support auditees in closing out findings and provide guidance on the Management System.
• Participate in internal improvement projects, management reviews, and business change initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of audit records and information.
• Assist with root‑cause analysis and contribute to the UKI Operations Team plan.
• Promote and embed a strong quality culture throughout the organisation.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, facilities, construction, business, engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven auditing experience, preferably within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Experience with consultancy and design projects.
• Knowledge of ISO‑based management systems and internal audit processes.
• Hold a recognised external audit qualification/certification for ISO 27001 and/or ISO 9001.
• Organised, analytical and excellent communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
