Attendance Officer – Greenwich School

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Attendance Officer to join a welcoming school in Greenwich starting in September. You will play a key role in promoting high pupil attendance by monitoring absences and supporting families and staff throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily pupil attendance and accurately record absences.
• Follow up with parents, pupils and staff on unexplained or frequent absences.
• Maintain and update attendance registers using the school’s management system.
• Provide regular attendance reports to senior leadership.
• Support pastoral teams with attendance‑related interventions and documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a school attendance or pastoral role is highly desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
• Confident communicator able to engage with staff, pupils and parents.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one immediately).
• Available to start immediately and commit to a Monday‑Friday schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIMS or Bromcom school management systems.
