Attendance Officer – School (South East London)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Attendance Officer to join a welcoming school in Greenwich, starting September. The role focuses on promoting high pupil attendance by monitoring absences, supporting families, and working closely with staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily pupil attendance and record data accurately.
• Follow up on unexplained absences with parents and guardians.
• Generate attendance reports using SIMS or Bromcom.
• Support staff and families with attendance policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure data protection compliance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a school attendance or pastoral role (highly desirable).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to engage with pupils, parents and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
• Availability to start straight away and work Monday‑Friday.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIMS or Bromcom attendance systems.
