Audio Typist – Urology (Glasgow Royal Infirmary)

About the role

We are seeking an Audio Typist to join the Urology team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, letters and other clinical documents, supporting consultants, clinical nurse specialists and junior doctors. The role demands strong initiative, strict confidentiality and excellent time‑management to meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe medical documentation, producing accurate and timely typed reports and letters.
• Provide a comprehensive typing service to Urology consultants, clinical nurse specialists and junior doctors.
• Assist secretarial teams with administrative tasks as required.
• Offer occasional general admin support to the wider administrative team.
• Manage workload independently, scheduling tasks to meet service needs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information securely.

Required profile

• Exceptional typing speed and accuracy.
• Good understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong time‑management skills.
• Ability to use initiative.
• Awareness of confidentiality requirements.
