Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager – Hybrid, £45-55k

About the role

Our client is a forward‑thinking accountancy practice serving businesses across Kent and the South East. They are seeking an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager to deliver high‑quality audit and financial reporting services while supporting client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Review and finalise accounts prepared by junior team members.
• Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact during engagements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and liaise with tax specialists.
• Support the development and training of junior staff.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and added‑value services.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and auditing standards.
• Proven experience in leading audits and preparing accounts.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
