About the role

A well‑established chartered accountancy firm in Hertfordshire is expanding and seeks an Audit & Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager. You will inherit client portfolios from senior partners and work with a diverse range of SMEs, owner‑managed businesses, and larger corporate groups.

Key responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of clients as the primary point of contact.
Lead statutory and voluntary audits from planning through completion.
Prepare statutory accounts and provide general accounting and tax advice.
Mentor and supervise junior team members.
Deliver assignments within agreed deadlines and budgets.

Required profile

ACA or ACCA qualified.
Strong experience in UK public practice, particularly leading audits.
Proven ability to manage and review junior staff.
Excellent communication with a proactive, professional approach.
