Audit & Accounts Senior – Croydon

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established independent accountancy practice in Croydon that seeks an Audit & Accounts Senior. The role offers a chance for an ACA/ACCA qualified or near‑qualified professional to develop within a modern, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a broad client portfolio.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Supervise and review the work of trainees and junior team members.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout engagements.
• Identify audit risks and ensure compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Prepare management letters and communicate findings to clients.
• Support managers in planning and delivering client engagements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
• Assist with ad‑hoc advisory projects as required.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA part‑qualified, nearly qualified or recently qualified.
• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong audit and statutory accounts preparation experience.
• Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong communication and client‑relationship skills.
• Proactive attitude with ambition to progress.
