Audit & Accounts Senior Manager

About the role

This senior position leads a portfolio of audit and accounts clients for a well‑established accountancy and advisory firm in Croydon. You will own technical delivery, mentor junior staff and develop towards a strategic leadership role within the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, including complex assignments.
• Prepare statutory and annual accounts for a diverse client base.
• Conduct risk assessments and test key controls.
• Review, approve and sign‑off work of junior and mid‑level staff, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
• Prepare management letters and present audit findings to clients.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Manage and expand client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Support partners with business development and strategic client portfolio initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to accounting regulations, internal quality processes and promote process improvements.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification, with Audit RI status or intention to obtain it.
• Significant audit and accounts experience within a practice environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.
• Proven ability to supervise, develop and inspire teams.
• Excellent organisational and leadership capabilities.

Required skills

• ACA or ACCA qualification (Audit RI).
• Technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Familiarity with UK auditing standards.
