Audit & Accounts Senior / Semi‑Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a part‑qualified or fully qualified Audit and Accounts Senior / Semi‑Senior to join our growing Chartered Accountancy practice in Croydon, Surrey. The role offers a permanent, full‑time position within a friendly, professional environment, supporting audit and accounting managers on a variety of client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver statutory audit assignments under the direction of managers and partners.
• Prepare statutory accounts and management accounts for owner‑managed businesses.
• Supervise and review the work of junior staff throughout the audit and accounts processes.
• Maintain client communication and ensure timely delivery of working schedules.
• Assist with VAT returns, tax filings and bookkeeping tasks as required.

Required profile

• ACCA or ICAEW qualification – newly qualified or part qualified.
• 1‑3 years of in‑practice experience.
• Familiarity with UK financial reporting standards.
• Experience of statutory audit and statutory tax work.
• Knowledge of management accounting, VAT reporting and bookkeeping.
