Audit and Accounts Director

About the role

We are supporting a growing chartered accountancy firm in Surrey with a senior leadership opportunity. The Audit and Accounts Director will play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s audit and advisory services while working towards partnership and Responsible Individual status.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments and ensure high‑quality delivery across a diverse client portfolio.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation and review under UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Act as the senior point of contact for clients, building long‑term relationships.
• Collaborate with partners on firm strategy, growth initiatives and succession planning.
• Support business development across Surrey and the South East.
• Mentor and develop team members within an ACA/ACCA training environment.
• Progress towards Responsible Individual (RI) status and obtain a Practising Certificate.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice, covering both audit and accounts.
• Current senior manager or director‑level experience.
• Ambition to progress to partnership and achieve RI status.
• Commercial, relationship‑focused approach to client work.
