Audit and Accounts Manager

About the role

Mellis Blue is looking for an experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join its Bedfordshire office. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality statutory accounts and audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio, while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of audit and non‑audit clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105) and, where relevant, IFRS.
• Plan, execute and review statutory audit assignments from inception to completion.
• Handle WIP and billing in line with internal KPIs and ensure efficient use of IT resources.
• Support client onboarding, engagement and disengagement together with the admin team.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and assist partners with business development.

Required profile

• Strong background in UK GAAP, auditing and accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a diverse client portfolio.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
• Excellent client‑relationship skills and commercial awareness.
