Audit Manager

About the role

Join a newly opened Liverpool office of a leading independent practice as an Audit Manager. You will lead audit engagements for owner‑managed businesses, SMEs, charities and academies, supporting the firm’s rapid growth and expansion plans.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients, reporting to Directors and Partners.
• Review statutory year‑end accounts and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Brief and oversee audit staff on assignments, providing training and coaching.
• Lead audit planning and closing meetings, presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to recruitment and business development activities.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Significant experience in auditing, preferably within owner‑managed businesses, SMEs, charities or academies.
• Proven ability to review financial statements.
• Experience coaching junior audit team members.
