Audit Senior – 80% Audit, 20% Accounts

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Audit Senior to join a Top20 accountancy firm on the South Coast. The role combines 80% audit work with 20% accounts preparation, supporting a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support Audit Managers and gain exposure to a wide range of accounting and audit issues under UK and international standards.
• Audit businesses across sectors such as healthcare, energy, marine, engineering, manufacturing, construction and transportation (up to £100m turnover).
• Act as the main point of contact for UK‑based clients and subsidiaries of overseas parents.
• Assist in audit planning, manage budgets, meet deadlines and ensure profitable delivery.
• Set objectives for graduate/junior staff, supervise on‑site work, review audit files and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Maintain close liaison with clients and stakeholders to build long‑term relationships.
• Prepare statutory accounts and conduct final audit review meetings with senior managers.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA audit professional, preferably degree educated.
• Minimum 3 years of audit practice experience, including some staff‑management exposure.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international audit standards and regulations.
