Audit Senior – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are a respected independent accountancy practice seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our growing team in Leeds. You will work with a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and established organisations, delivering high‑quality audit services while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, managing on‑site fieldwork teams.
• Prepare and review audit files, ensuring compliance with accounting and auditing standards.
• Draft financial statements and support the completion process.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Coach and support junior team members during assignments.
• Identify improvement areas and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate closely with managers and partners to ensure a high‑quality client experience.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part‑qualified, or actively progressing towards qualification.
• Minimum two years’ external audit experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience leading audit assignments and managing on‑site fieldwork.
• Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting requirements.
• Good general accounts experience alongside audit capability.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for client site visits.

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with audit and accounting software.
