Audit Senior – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Essex. You will lead audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, balancing on‑site client work with collaborative office tasks and hybrid flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete external audits for a range of clients in accordance with UK auditing standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their working papers and providing guidance.
• Prepare and review audit documentation, including working papers and draft financial statements.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and build strong relationships.
• Identify risk areas, ensure efficient audit delivery and support managers with technical queries.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or part‑qualified) with solid audit experience in practice.
• Proven track record of managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and client‑facing skills.
