Audit Senior – Hybrid, £40k‑£55k (ACA/ACCA)

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Senior to join a well‑established chartered accountancy firm in Farnham, Surrey. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to a diverse client portfolio across the South East, including owner‑managed businesses, international group subsidiaries and not‑for‑profit organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• Work closely with clients to understand operations, systems and key business risks.
• Identify internal control weaknesses and provide practical, tailored recommendations.
• Prepare and review audit documentation in line with UK auditing standards.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor trainees throughout audit assignments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Recent external audit experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience leading or supervising audit assignments.
• Strong understanding of UK auditing standards and compliance procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with client‑facing experience.
• Proactive, organised and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Use of cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Audit software proficiency.
