Audit Senior

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a well‑established independent accountancy practice in Hertfordshire. Working closely with the Directors, you will manage audit assignments from planning through to completion while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and deliver external statutory audits for a portfolio of around 100 clients.
• Conduct specialised audits such as Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SRA) audits, client‑money audits and FCA‑regulated entity audits.
• Prepare statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
• Supervise, review and mentor junior team members, trainees and apprentices.
• Collaborate with Managers and Directors to ensure high‑quality client service.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, recently qualified, or a strong Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidate.
• Solid background in a UK accountancy practice with external audit experience.
• Proven ability to manage audits independently and plan assignments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent client‑facing skills and a desire to develop long‑term professional relationships.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £40,000‑£50,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 35‑hour work week (Mon‑Thu 9:00‑17:00, Fri 9:00‑16:00).
