Audit Senior Manager

About the role

This is a senior-level audit position with a growing mid‑tier firm in Liverpool. You will lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of SME and OMB clients, working closely with partners to shape the audit function’s future and progress towards Director/RI responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audits across a varied SME and OMB client portfolio.
• Oversee planning, fieldwork and completion, ensuring technical excellence.
• Coach, mentor and develop a growing audit team.
• Review audit files and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Strengthen audit processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Build strong, long‑term client relationships and add commercial insight.
• Collaborate with partners on departmental strategy and client service delivery.
• Play a key role in shaping the ongoing growth of the Audit function.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• Experienced Audit Senior Manager or high‑performing Audit Manager ready to step up.
• Strong background in SME/OMB audit work (desirable).
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple assignments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Collaborative, positive leader who sets high standards.
