Auditor – Audit Semi Senior to Manager (Newton Abbot)

About the role

Our client, a well‑known Chartered Accountancy firm in Newton Abbot, is seeking an experienced auditor to join their team. The role is suitable for candidates ranging from Audit Semi‑Senior to Manager level and involves delivering high‑quality audit engagements for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and complete audits in line with the firm’s procedures, with guidance from senior staff.
• Review statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and returns.
• Prepare reports for presentation by directors during client meetings.
• Liaise directly with clients, building strong rapport and handling queries proactively.
• Manage audit engagements to meet client expectations, budgets and deadlines.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or part‑qualified.
• Minimum 1 year of practice experience in audit.
• Strong IT proficiency and experience with computerised audit, accounts and tax software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Accurate, methodical and inquisitive approach to work.
• Motivated and effective both independently and as part of a team.
