Autism Support Assistant (Specialist School)

About the role
This full‑time position supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related needs in a specialist school in Newbury. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver personalised learning experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with ASD.
- Facilitate small‑group interventions focusing on communication and social skills.
- Create a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate daily with teachers and support staff to align strategies.
Required profile
- Experience working with children, especially those on the autism spectrum.
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive practices.
- Compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to student wellbeing.
