Autism Support Worker – Oxford

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join a vibrant school in Oxford. You will work directly with pupils who have autism, ADHD, learning and behavioural difficulties, providing daily classroom assistance and helping create a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering lesson materials.
• Support pupils with daily tasks, encouraging independence and engagement.
• Monitor and record each child’s progress and behaviour.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere in line with safeguarding policies.
• Contribute fun and motivating activities that reinforce learning objectives.

Required profile

• Some experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
• Patience, nurturing attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Enthusiasm for bringing a positive, fun element to the classroom.
