Autism Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Learning Support

About the role

Reeson Education is partnering with a large primary school in Redbridge to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for a KS1 child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The role is full‑time, long‑term and starts as soon as possible, with trial days arranged immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored one‑to‑one support to a KS1 pupil with ASD.
• Deliver a range of interventions designed to meet the child’s social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Collaborate with the school SENCo and external therapists, including speech‑and‑language and drama specialists.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and adapt support strategies as required.

Required profile

• Graduate degree from a reputable university.
• Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly ASD and SEMH.
• Resilient, committed, passionate and innovative attitude.
• Ability to work confidently in a supportive, welcoming school community.

Required skills

• Understanding of SEN frameworks and ASD interventions.
• Experience delivering 1:1 learning support in a primary setting.
