Autism Tutor – 1:1 Tuition for Learners 11‑25

About the role

We are seeking a qualified teacher or experienced tutor to provide 1:1 tuition and educational support for autistic learners aged 11‑25 in Lewisham. The role focuses on building confidence, independence and achieving educational outcomes through personalised instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition and educational support.
• Adapt teaching strategies to individual communication, sensory and learning needs.
• Provide English and Maths tuition where appropriate.
• Support learners to achieve academic, personal and EHCP outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with learners and families.
• Complete session reports and progress updates.
• Collaborate with families, schools, local authorities and other professionals.
• Follow safeguarding policies and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or substantial tutoring experience.
• Experience supporting autistic children and young people.
• Confidence adapting learning to individual needs.
• Experience delivering English and Maths tuition.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

• £25‑£35 per hour PAYE.
