Automatic Gate Engineer – North East England

About the role
We are seeking an Automatic Gate Engineer to join our client’s growing team in the North East of England. The role is field‑based, covering a variety of sites and involves installing, servicing and maintaining automated access solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Install, service, repair, fault‑find and maintain automated gates, barriers, bollards and access systems.
- Visit multiple customer sites across the North East and surrounding areas.
- Work with a range of manufacturers’ products.
- Ensure the overall quality of all work delivered.
- Communicate effectively with customers throughout each job.
- Complete tasks efficiently and support team members when required.
Required profile
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- At least three years’ experience in the gate and barrier industry (preferred but not mandatory).
- Willingness to be trained on any discipline.
- Knowledge of a variety of manufacturers.
- Relevant certifications such as IPAF, CSCS/ECS, DHF/Gate Safe or City & Guilds are desirable.
- Positive attitude and self‑motivation.
Required skills
- Installation of automated gates and barriers.
- Service and maintenance of access control equipment.
- Fault‑finding and repair of gate and barrier systems.
- Familiarity with multiple manufacturers’ products.
- IPAF certification (optional).
- CSCS/ECS certification (optional).
- DHF/Gate Safe certification (optional).
- City & Guilds certification (optional).
