Automatic & Industrial Door Engineer – Durham & North East

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automatic & Industrial Door Engineer to service customers across Durham and the wider North East. This field‑based position offers a varied mix of installations, maintenance and emergency repairs for automatic doors, gates, barriers and shutters.

Key responsibilities

• Install automatic and industrial door systems for new and retrofit projects.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on existing installations.
• Respond to reactive repair calls and emergency call‑outs.
• Follow weekly work schedules and adjust to daily emergency allocations.
• Provide high‑quality customer service and represent the business professionally on site.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of field‑based experience in the automatic door industry.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and proactive “can‑do” approach.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a close‑knit engineering team.
• Commitment to staying up‑to‑date with the latest door technologies.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers.
